What would a 3D chat world be without it's visuals?
Today we updated how we use the Unity 3D engine to improve quality of rendered avatars and scenes.
Here's a "Before and After" pic, capped on the same machine in the same scene:
For the technical minded, the following was improved:
- Anti-aliasing
- Improved alpha blending
- Adjusted texture compression
- Bone limits increased
- Nisotropic texure adjusted
The net effect is that the same assets made by creators look smoother and clearer now, with minimal impact on performance.
No tricky settings to adjust, the change has been applied across the site and to everyone.
Enjoy.
