Exciting times, this Wednesday is our public unveiling of our first mobile game, the first in a series of 3d fashion & lifestyle apps we'll be bringing to market over coming months.
We'll be participating in the "Battle of the Apps 2" event, held in Bisous in LKF, Hong Kong. Each startup has 8 minutes to present their app, the winner is chosen by the crowd and with over 10 entrants the competition is bound to be intense.
We'll be showing our game as well as the awesome feedback we're getting through our beta.
If you're in Hong Kong, come join us: registration is here

Update: we're back up now, thanks everyone!
Hi everyone,
Earlier today we experienced a problem with one of the drives used by our cloud provider, Amazon Web Services. We're now restoring from our last backup and expect to be back up shortly. Thanks for your patience!

After a big weekend scrambling we pulled things together for our first mobile user test today.
Since our mobile initiative kicked off we had discussed different approaches, adjusted our goals based on user and market feedback, and finally settled on a new direction for our iOS app.
So this was a day all of us had been gunning for - the first chance to get real hands on our prototype and take in brutally honest, unvarnished feedback. Surveys and polls are great, but there is nothing like seeing the quizical expression of someone stuck deciding what icon to press, or smiling in delight at something beautiful or impatiently double or triple tapping waiting for something to loading.
After asking friends and friends of friends on Facebook, we found a bunch of people willing to be guinea pigs. 10 young souls came in out of the sweltering Hong Kong heat to our office, 19 floors up in the heart of central. There were students in their teens as well as women in their 20s, hardcore iphone gamers through to technophobes, outspoken extroverts through to soft spoken wallflowers.
As for the test, not unexpectedly it was some form of organized chaos.
The test builds weren't ready until 10 minutes after the first batch of girls came in (lots of "hi, so tell me more about yourself" while waiting to start..), the ipad version refused to work and one of the main UI buttons couldn't be pressed without a workaround. We had toyed with getting some android builds ready but it was too late to do UI tweaking to get the latest builds' updated UI adjusted. But despite these the show went on and we completed the test anyway, using 3rd gen itouch, iphone 4 and iphone 3gs.
The results were very interesting.
Lots of feedback on everything from speed (loading times too slow), gameplay (some good, some needs tweaks), through to avatar (fashionable) to navigation (sometimes confusing) and requests (more photo taking, more variety of cosmetics etc).
The test was exactly what we needed at this stage in the process - a chance to test a minimum viable prototype, digest the feedback and jump on the iteration train...
Our journey to launch continues.

Please be informed that the internet was briefly down for approximately 40 minutes, due to Amazon Web Services suffering network latency and connectivity errors. During this time, you may experience issues accessing Frenzoo.com, the site is now back up. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
